Hi, I'm Tina!
Teka Flowers is my baby, the product of 20+ years of experience in the floristry industry. I created Teka Flowers to bring joy to people through beautiful, thoughtfully tailored flower arrangements.
Flower arranging and floral art is my passion. It’s a way for me to express my creativity and love for flowers. My career as a florist has been as varied as it has been long – from my start as a fledgling florist in my own business at the tender age of 17, through working at some of the top florist businesses around Perth, I’ve worked on and refined my art. I now come full circle, to owning and running my own business with Teka Flowers.
Through the ups and downs of life (and there have been plenty!) three people have always stood beside me: my beautiful, selfless mum and my two handsome sons, now young men. They inspire me to bring the joy to others that they bring to me. So, the name Teka Flowers is a combination of each of our initials.
Floristry to me is art
It is therapeutic, a creative outlet, the expression of inspiration from the world around me. Most importantly, it’s a way to create beautiful connections between people. When we give and receive flowers, we express our feelings for each other. Helping this to happen is a wonderful way to spend each day! As I work, I’m driven by the smile I can visualise when the floral arrangement or gift hamper is handed over.
There is no greater honour for me than when customers return to order from me, appreciating what I’ve been able to create for them before. I treasure and value their trust in my work and artistic process, and the personal relationships built with clients have been the foundation of my business. I marry my client’s instructions with the occasion, the freshest seasonal flowers I have access to, and the refined, personal touch I am known for.
